Danièle Odell grew up in rural corn field landscape on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with 6 siblings. During her childhood her mother Denise, a couturier from Switzerland taught Daniele the art of sewing. To perfect her skills, Daniele later earned a certificate degree from The Craft School of Tailoring in Philadelphia.
In 2005 Danièle started her own company Cache Bags in Asheville, NC. Her collection includes handmade bags, caps and star shape pillows. Danièle uses assemblage of different fabrics to create her work. Her sense of color is earthy, subtle and surprising. All her creations are either one of a kind or in very limited edition which makes each item unique and a work of art on it's own.
For Danièle, creating her own product line and having her own business allows her to homeschool her children which has always been her primary focus. She wants to raise her children to be strong independent, critical thinkers through the teaching of Dr Shinichi Suzuki. Through homeschooling, Danièle recognizes the importance of art and music in her children's life and encourages her children to embrace both. Now her eldest son Duncan 24 a violinist, composer and mulch-instrumentalist who performs all over the world. Devin, 21 is both a musician and aspiring visual artist. Her youngest Grayson only 13 plays the violin, guitar and banjo has won numerous bluegrass and Old Time contests including the prestigious Leaf Festival in NC.
Danièle also crafts custom order musical instrument cases. Each case is well designed to suit the musician's needs to protect the instrument.
